Posted on 04/30/2024

As a global citizen, I have seen firsthand that no matter where we are in the world, we all want the opportunity to live our fullest life possible. My experiences working in the impact sector over the past two decades have shown me that some of the most impactful innovations originate directly from the very communities we seek to help.

That's why it's more important than ever that we now work together to share knowledge and innovation. There is immense potential to learn, scale, and replicate innovations that could improve lives, end poverty, and create a world in which everyone thrives.

I’m excited to share a new report from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) on health equity trends emerging across the globe. As one of a small group of core advisors on this report, I helped to identify and contextualize the emerging trends, and I’m eager to share the finished product and help spread the word of what is possible when we work together.

This report reflects not only my personal belief but also amplifies the collective wisdom and brilliance of many individuals, experts, and organizations who have contributed to its creation. We have much to gain from studying their approaches and integrating their insights into our own practices.

From India to Uruguay, Kenya to Singapore, and beyond, places all over the world are taking innovative approaches to improve health equity, and we have so much to learn from them.

The report highlights six trends with implications for health equity in the U.S. and spotlights solutions currently employed around the world.

Here are six global health trends to watch:

🍼Growing calls for more equitable care work

📈 Greater longevity

💻 Surge in digital health information impacting wellbeing

🏘️ Compounding housing crisis

🥗 Increasing risks to nutrition security

🌲Growing demands for healthy public spaces

Dive into the report and explore our findings. I am especially grateful and honored for the privilege to work alongside such visionary and creative colleagues.
