Amelia Kuklewicz

Vice President of Programs

Amelia is the Vice President of Programs at Grameen. She has 16 years of experience managing projects in financial inclusion, women’s economic empowerment (WEE), and social performance management. Her experience includes financial product design, e-learning and health and technology project implementation. In addition, she has led a number of USG projects and has been instrumental in developing Grameen's "Resilient Life Resilient Business" curriculum, tools for mitigating the risks of unintended consequences of economic strengthening initiatives, gender toolkits, and safeguarding policies. She leads Grameen’s Gender Working Group to improve our programming and policies to be more gender transformative.

Before joining Grameen Foundation, she led Freedom from Hunger’s work in Ecuador to implement Credit with Education and Microfinance and Health Protection programming. Previously, she worked at FINCA International as Regional Operations Manager for Latin America and the Caribbean, implementing credit and operations programs. Her previous experience includes working at ACCION International and spent a number of years in Washington, D.C., working at various non-profit organizations. Amelia has her master’s degree in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University and undergraduate degree from Edgewood College in International Relations and Spanish. She speaks Spanish and Polish and lives in Quito, Ecuador.
