At the center of our work here at Grameen Foundation is the idea that women and girls have the capacity and willpower to lift their communities out of poverty.
We provide them with the training, the financial products, the technology, and the local support they need to get there.
Some of our recent successes:
- Trained women like Patience to not only provide digital banking services to rural communities in Ghana, but also resources to combat gender-based violence.
- Provided technology and business skills to women in refugee camps in Uganda, who can now become successful entrepreneurs. The people we train earn, on average, 30% more than their peers.
- Made sure that more children in El Salvador and Honduras aren't forced into dangerous work by training new and aspiring women entrepreneurs to reduce the risk of harmful child labor.
