The Making of a Tiny Loan, 

Microfinance institutions are the critical link in providing the loans and other resources poor people need to build new lives. To make those tiny loans, these local organizations rely on various sources including donors, commercial banks, and money clients have deposited into savings accounts. Transforming Lives Through Technology

David Edelstein, Vice President of Technology Programs and the Director of the Grameen Technology Center, recently gave a briefing about the potential for mobile to improve the lives and livelihoods of millions of poor people around the world.  In this video, David discusses the process to develop our applications, cites examples of the impact of our programs on the rural poor in Uganda, and explains the importance of partnerships to create sustainability and scalability.
