Grameen Announces Leadership Transition

It is with profound gratitude for his achievements that we announce the departure of Steve Hollingworth as CEO and President of the Grameen Foundation.

Steve has served as our leader since 2016 and has tirelessly applied himself to furthering the mission of Grameen Foundation. Effective March 4, 2022, Brent Chism, previously Executive Vice President of Programs, assumed the role of interim President and CEO.

Brent has worked with Grameen Foundation since 2017, much of that time in the role of Executive Vice President of Programs, leading the teams tasked with development, delivery, and funding of innovative solutions to improve the lives of the poor, especially women.

A search for a new CEO is well underway, led by the Grameen Foundation Board of Directors and an executive search firm.

We are excited about the opportunities the future holds to lessen the burden of poverty on the global poor and look forward to Grameen’s next chapter.
